Vintage 9k Yellow Gold Bypass Ring with Sapphires and Diamonds, 1981

What you see is a wonderful vintage version of a type of ring that is called "bypass", a sort of reinterpretation of the classic contrary ring, in which however we find a few more elements, which thus enriches the decoration. In the center we find in fact a row of four stones, four round-cut sapphires of a very dark blue, positioned not on a straight line but rather diagonally, and this to ensure that the two sides of the stem, instead of touching the ends of the external sapphires could continue their movement and surmount the entire row; in this way not only is the typical movement of contrary rings created, but the concept of bypass rings is also achieved, which exceed ("bypass") the row of central stones. The two sides, in addition to performing this beautiful movement, have also been decorated with engravings, in order to give them a particular texture, and each ends with a huit-huit cut diamond. The frame is entirely in 9K yellow gold.
