Vintage Design

This exquisitely crafted piece dates back to the late 1800s in Jiangsu, China. Its design features ornately carved panels of mountain and floral motifs, accompanied by four 'foo dogs' which are symbolic guardians of Chinese culture thought to protect the occupant of the cradle. The top rail is connected to rounded turned posts, sitting atop rockers that gently rocked a sleepy baby.

This wooden cradle includes a detachable lid, allowing parents to shield their infant from any external light or unwelcome visitors, such as feral cats, dogs, or other animals. Still functioning as a cradle, it can also double as a decorative piece and convenient place to store bedding and blankets.
