About This Piece

Portrait of Child is an original artwork attributed to Marcellin Desboutin. Original Drawing, monogrammaed in pencil on the lower left margin and dated 1901. Passpartout included cm 70x52. Good conditions. Marcellin Desboutin (Cérilly, 1823 - Nice, 1902). In 1945, he worked at the atelier of the sculptor Louis-Jules Etex at the École des Beaux-Arts de Paris, he soon attended the painting course of Thomas Couture. He travelled along Britain, Italy, and Luxembourg. In 1857, he inherited a big villa near Florence, where he lived with Edgar Degas and led a luxiourious life. In 1873, he went back to Paris, where he spent much time with Édouard Manet and Emile Zola at the café Guerbois.
