Remarkable mahogany convenient buffet with a marquetry, directed by the Master Cabinet Marcel Gray, originally from Nantes and Pornic, in the 1940s. His signature is affixed within one of the doors, and specifies his year of birth, to Knowing 1886. This furniture consists of two doors closing "walnut" in sycamore veneer, decorated in encrustation of Thuya appearing a finely executed hunting scene: riders, folders, game and birds Made of dark wood offer a striking rendering, the craftsman has transcribed this scene with realism and poetry. These doors are equipped with a star-shaped bronze ornamentation, as well as a brass falling handle taking the shape of a lily flower: they open on a light wood interior, consisting of 2 drawers in sycamore . These complement the consequent storage offer of this dresser, with its 6 drawers in front, with each of their perleted ring pull handle and macaron: compounds in the central part of the speckled maple, they are embellished in their periphery a contrasting net of light and dark species. Note that these wooden fillet inlays are also found in many locations, such as on top and sides of the cabinet, as well as on the tablet field under the tray. Offering an additional space that can be dedicated to writing, the latter, framed with 2 false shitters in the same spirit, has a mahogany entourage in tab cup, and is garnished with a red leather with golden thumbnail. Its opening is facilitated by a beaded round button, and stops with a stop. The base consists of four feet filled with a brass sabot, on which slightly rounded amounts are based.
Subtly mixing the Louis XVI spirit with the modern art modernity, this convenient buffet with multiple inspirations is the result of an admirable work of cabinetmaking, and will easily register in your decoration by its clear shades.
