Late 19th Century Mahogany Travel Trunk

Vintage Design

This completely in solid mahogany trunk presents above, a single framing board called "tab cut" on the sides and the facade.
The four faces are made up of a single board width without joints assembled to the angles by six tails-d'arondes.
The lower part is made up of a relief plinth, the edge of which is molded in throat and two elements of withdrawal wood present over the entire length of the furniture.
This trunk has an original double hook iron lock in perfect operating condition.
The opening of the cover is done by original wrought iron hugs. A compass called "knee" maintains this one in a vertical position.
Its transport is made possible by the presence on the sides of wood elements imprisoning rope handles.
This trunk reflects through his soul, the many thousand sailors he traveled on the seas of the globe. It will bring authenticity to your home.
