Large and old prestigious zoomorphic Bamoun bronze pipe Cameroon

from the end of the 19th century, the Bamouns produced many prestigious objects, such as stools, pipes, etc.
The stove is characteristic of the Bamouns sculptures, characters.

These pipes were reserved for important people from the Grassland region of Cameroon.
The use of the pipe is important among the Bamouns, the women of the court of King Noya smoked them in the fields to ensure greater fertility on the soil. The diviners also smoked pipes to read the oracles.

The animal theme is a constant among the Bamoun.
