Large mid-century decorative platter (circa 1970s) by Albert Thiry. A creamy-white glaze with touches of blue-grey provides the background for a colourful thistle motif in the centre recess. The rim is an earthy brown with incised shapes in white. The incised motif in the centre has depth and is wonderfully tactile. The markings and colouring are quintessential Albert Thiry. A stunning wall hanging (holes in place on the underside) or centre piece in a delightful Provençal style. In fair-to-good overall condition. There is a chip under the lip of the piece which is only visible if one lifts the platter. It is visible in the photos attached. Signed: 'Thiry' on earthy clay base of dish.
