This is a large vintage flower vase. An Hungarian, ceramic baluster vase with colourful decoration, dating to the late 20th century, circa 1980.

Excellent colour accentuates the crisp white ground
Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order
Quality ceramic presents a pleasingly globular form
Distinctive 'Kalocsai hímzés' foliate pattern a treat of rich colours

Inspired by local tapestries, the bouquets of forget-me-nots and carnations are a staple
Circular bands of polished gilt paint adorn the rim and foot
Maker's mark to base reads 'Kalosca Hungary, Handpainted'
