Vintage Design

A very large vintage table lamp in the form of a very theatrical faux-distressed altar candlestick of baluster form, in wood and gesso, with incised decor and applied carved acanthus leaves, all gilded in white gold with a selective tinted glaze to give the appearance of gold parcel-gilding. It was probably made in France, sometime in the 1950s.

The lamp has been rewired with a length of high-quality braided white Italian-made twisted flex, with a vintage-style black Bakelite inline switch braid.
