Vintage Design

Large trumeau mirror on cream color wood background consisting of a mercury ice cream with a painting on canvas, in Louis XVI style.
In the lower part, a mirror in perfect condition enjoys a gold carved wood frame at the gold leaf, combining ribbonne friezes and geometric patterns. At the four angles, a square is surmounted by a relief rosette. At the top of a blazon-shaped sculpture is decorated with leaves and flowers.
Partly, a painting on canvas with delicate colors represents a bucolic scene where there are two young teenagers dressed in spring outfits. Sitting near a grove, an elegantly dressed boy playing the cornemuse by looking at his companion. The smiling girl carries with her hair a rose and holds her dress by making small dance steps.
This paint is framed with a carved and gilded molding with fine, thinner than the lower part. This one has a wreath of pearls and a wrapped frieze. This Greek corner frame is summoned by two cabochons in high part.
Graceful and harmonious, this great trumeau mirror will delight lovers of refined works.
