About This Piece

Jan Nicolaas Joseph van Evelingen, born on 3 May 1923 in Berlin, attended the Kunstakademie in Dresden during the war. Initially he worked in advertising, but in 1973 he decided to devote himself completely to painting. He had been living in Abcoude, the Netherlands until his death in 2008.
