Italian M1 Dining Table in Carrara Marble by Angelo Mangiarotti for Skipper, 1958

Angelo Mangiarotti 'M1' dining table for Skipper in Carrara marble, Italy, 1958. The first one was the color of the marble; very clean white and grey tones in high quality Carrara marble, slightly towards the blue (!) with a strong contrast between the grey and the white. The M1 is hard to find in this color nowadays, much harder than the darker ones and especially in this condition. Very good. No cracks or chips or anything. The second reason is that we know that it's an authentic piece, because we know where it comes from, in this case Bologna. If you look carefully you can see that the top's protective plastic layer has slightly turned yellow over the years. This is due to the sunlight. This table only needs polishing, which will bring back its old color.
