Lot of 2 antique opal glass jewelry boxes.
This type of jewelry box was manufactured mainly in France, Italy and formerly in Bohemia.
They were manufactured from the beginning of the 19th century to the beginning of the 20th century. However, the heyday of opaline cases was around 1850.
Opal glass is made in Europe and is a sought-after collector's item for its semi-opaque coloration and seamless appearance. The containers are mouth-blown, with gilded bronze hinges. with so many colorful shapes, these vintage beauties are great for collecting and mixing.
