Set of twelve MOSER crystal glasses, six whiskey glasses and six higball glasses with curved profile. ORIGIN Czechoslovakia PERIOD 1950s BRAND The MOSER Crystal Manufactory is one of the most prestigious crystal factories in the world, located in Karlovy Vary, in the Czech Republic (formerly Czechoslovakia). Founded in 1857 by Ludwig Moser, Moser Glassworks has a long and distinguished tradition of producing crystals of the highest quality. Ludwig Moser, a skilled engraver and glassmaker, founded the company in 1857. Initially, Moser focused on decorating imported clear glass, which was then engraved and decorated by hand. In 1893, Moser inaugurated its own furnace, allowing the company to produce glass with a unique and distinctive design, no longer limited by the need to import raw glass. Moser is known for its lead-free crystal, which makes it a more environmentally friendly product and, at the same time, highly transparent and shiny. Moser crystals are made with advanced artisan techniques, including hand engraving, hand painting and cutting. Each piece is a work of art and can take weeks or even months to complete. The company is famous for its colored crystal, which is produced with a unique method and which has made its products particularly sought after worldwide. Throughout its history, Moser has received numerous international awards and recognition for the quality and elegance of its products. His pieces have been used by royal families, dignitaries and celebrities. Moser's historic clients include monarchs, such as Emperor Franz Joseph I of Austria, and influential personalities of the 19th and 20th centuries. MATERIALS Moser Glassware is famous for producing lead-free crystal, something that sets it apart from many other crystal manufacturers. Since the founding of their furnace in 1893, Moser has chosen to use a lead-free glass composition. This type of crystal, also called potassium crystal, is made with components such as high-quality sand, soda, potassium and limestone, but without adding lead oxide. The absence of lead gives Moser crystal greater hardness than lead crystal, which makes processing more difficult but at the same time allows very precise and detailed engravings. Furthermore, this crystal has a lower environmental impact and does not pose a risk to the health of the artisans who work with it, as it does not release lead particles during production or use DIMENSIONS Whiskey glasses: H 12.5 cm / Ø 9 cm Highball glasses : H 15 / Ø 6.6 cm CONDITIONS Perfect.
