Burnt Orange & White Zanfirico Murano Glasses from Cenedese, Set of 6

Special and exclusive complete set of 6 Murano glasses, made and signed by Cenedese. The pattern of these glasses is a special technique also used by Venini at the time and goes by the name of Tartan, the crisscross fabric used in quilts. Here Amelio Cenedese used a special rod called Zanfirico. It is made by twisting and crossing small glass beads and then pulling the glass forming a rod, according to the Murrina technique. The result is a network of colors inside a glass rod. The color used is burnt orange (burnt orange on white enamel). The horizontal warp was added to the glass with an orange spiral bead on white glaze. Then the vertical texture was obtained by rolling it on Zanfirico canes laid and evenly spaced.
