About This Piece

Unvarnished black, blue and white acrylic canvas. The edges are painted black.

Lots of effect and substance in this Soulages-inspired composition executed with brush and knife.

The canvas surface is treated differently. with scraping and crushing, the black is more or less intense, depending on the light.

The large blue diagonal, enhanced by the white line, crosses the canvas and guides the viewer's eye towards a cobalt horizon.
