Alberto Burri (Città di Castello, 12 March 1915 – Nice, 15 February 1995) is an Italian painter, among the most important of the twentieth century. with his technique he anticipated movements such as poor art and new realism, through the use of new and avant-garde materials such as tar, iron, mould, wood, earth and glue for the creation of his material paintings. His works are an example of informal art, a movement born at the end of the 40s that rejects figurative and abstract art in favor of a new communication of matter, but what is surprising about Burri the artist is that his work It is self-taught. Burri's artistic career was born in a particular moment, the artist studied medicine and decided to focus on art only during a period of imprisonment in Texas during the Second World War.
