About This Piece

Vintage Design

Piano black polished veneer on solid pinewood. Sides engraved with wide brass strips. Deck plate with graduated veined marble. Conical body ending in lion's paws, on three sided, retracted plinth, ending in baton feet. The front is with mercury mask on sunbeams and with crossed branches, underneath in juvenescent form, framed with flower decorated vase, through scroll foliage and flower garlands. Flanked by cornered fixtures with acanthus spirals and garlands. The fixtures are prominent and of exceptionally superior quality. (K-Sam-15). Wear consistent with age and use.
