19th Century English Solid Mahogany Cabinet

About This Piece

Vintage Design

Charcoal reserve of English origin, in solid mahogany, opening by a flap tilting from the front. Its front is fitted with an ornate Bronze handle and a flat panel with carved motifs. The interior is furnished with a 30 cm deep Zinc tray, removable and accompanied by its shovel.
In the upper part, this piece of furniture is provided in recess with a rectangular Mercury Mirror with a bevelled edge and a moulded frame. One will specify the presence of a trace of antiquity on the right, alteration due to the 150 years of history of this original mirror.
The top is composed of a shelf, with curved edges, and moved on the front. It is itself surmounted by a pediment cut out with floral decoration.
Note that the edges of the uprights of this Charcoal Reserve are triple grooved.
In addition to the two chiselled Metal handles on the sides, this piece of furniture rests on four casters, bringing a great mobility to the whole.
